State Street Saloon is one of those places that make you feel welcomed. Good food at reasonable prices. Going strong forever in good times and hard times . It defines the true Portsmouth, old school, hard working town that has seen a lot of changes since my parents moved here in 1979.

So many things I love about this fun, local watering hole. 1) My favorite local band Freight Train plays here. 2) Good food at reasonable prices. 3) Friendly, efficient staff. 4) Decent drink selection. 5) Great people-watching venue. I always feel comfortable when we visit here.

I had the medium lobster roll, which is 4 ounces. Great price, and the sides were delicious. Hot fresh fries, and a good size portion of coleslaw. Everything was so good and we ate it so fast that I didn't even have time to take a picture.

This place was amazing! We went for dinner after work and it was so good that we went for lunch on the weekend. The staff was extremely helpful to the ''out-of-towners'' by offering suggestions and explanations. Do yourself a favor and please try the lobster roll and NE Lobster Pie. You will not leave hungry or disappointed.

This is a very cool place for a drink and food, great atmosphere, The waitresses were all very nice, it's clean and affordable and gets busy on weekend nights, the lobster rolls are great, Definitely be here quite often!
